Day of Action, textbanking opportunities ahead |
Hate Fascism? Care about clean air and water? Or due process for your neighbors? Do you want healthcare for all? Want your child’s public school fully funded? Do you feel strongly about starving children in Palestine? Well, you have a role to play then. On Aug 16-17 we’ll be going out into the Heart of the Valley and Grand Chute to listen to voters’ concerns and we hope you’ll join us. Sign up here. Knowing our neighbors and their concerns helps us in April and November elections next year. We have trainers who will get you ready and veteran canvassers who will go with you and show you how it’s done. Trust us: you’ll sleep better if you get involved! We also need people to help us textbank for volunteers for the action above this Thursday and next Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the party office. It’s so easy and so necessary. |
Help the North OAT with its school lunch debt relief project! |
The Appleton Area School District has had to shift more than $80,000 from their general fund to help pay for school lunches for families in need at schools that don’t qualify for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). The North Outagamie Action Team and Northside Neighbor to Neighbor have embarked on a project to raise money to help offset some of the school district’s costs. There will be a rummage sale Sept. 4-6 from 8 to 6 at 340 W. Capitol Drive in Appleton. Bring whatever items you can on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 2-3 from 4 to 7 p.m. (See the list of items that we can not take.) We will also need help setting up, working the sale and tearing down on the last day. There are 10 total time shifts, each requiring multiple people so please step up as you can by signing up here! Even if you have nothing to donate, come and visit the rummage sale September 4-6 and support our fundraising efforts to support our Appleton Area School District and its families. Now more than ever we need to be involved in our communities. This is a great way to do that. For more information or if you need to make arrangements to drop off your items early contact Kathy Kraus at 920 470 4673. |

Help us help the Hispanic/Latinx community |
Casa Hispana, located in Menasha, is a nonprofit organization that advocates and empowers the Hispanic/Latinx community in the Fox Valley. Their mission is to advance awareness, education, and celebration of the vibrant, diverse cultures. Now more than ever this community needs our help. Raids, detentions, and deportations are taking place right here in the Fox Valley. We can help in many ways, especially with legal fees. We will collect cash donations for this purpose at our upcoming membership meetings, August 11, and September 6, and at the Corn Roast Aug. 17. You can also donate directly to our Casa Hispana Fundraiser! |
