POTENTIAL LEDE: The Constiution is meant to be sacred and treated seriously. It is not meant to be used to effect policy change you failed to get through via the legislative process. Yet that is how Republicans have been using our sacred document the past six years.


  • Vote No on all three Constitutional Amendments, especially on Question 2 


  • In the past six years, the GOP has proposed 13 Constitutional Amendments after just three the previous decade.


  • Republicans are using the amendment process because they can’t get their wish list past Gov. Evers veto pen. This is the way divided government is meant to work.


  • This is not the proper use of amendments and weakens our Constitution and our democracy.


  • Almost none of those 13 initiatives have pertained to the Constitution but have instead been GOP policy objectives


  • Why the so-called Equality Amendment is bad and misleading


  • The language is purposely vague and overbroad


  • It is actually anti-equity and would do untold damage to underserved communities who have relied on equity to get fair treatment after years of discrimination.


  • While this amendment claims to want to end preferential treatment, it actually seeks to deny equitable treatment for those who have historically been ignored or discriminated against


  • The potential fallout from this amendment included:


  • Minority-owned businesses would not longer have to be equally considered by the government


  • Greater health inequity for certain populations


  • Certain minority-directed curriculum could be deemed too ethnic and be eliminated


  • Grants could be denied simply because they mentioned certain races, genders or ethnicities


  • Literacy organizations could lose funding


  • Equitable hiring practices could end


  • Protections for all historically underserved or discriminated against populations would end
